Danny
Carey from Tool - Instore - 24th April 2003
Danny was cool enough to hang out and sign about 200 autographs on everything from rare Tool records to one crazy fans shoe! He also answered heaps of questions before heading down to the Sydney Entertainment Centre where Tool were performing that night. It was great to see so many people show up on the day to support Danny. Billy Hyde Drumcraft would like to thank everybody for their support and for being so well behaved!

DW Drums in conjunction with Billy Hyde Drumcraft, Drum City and The Drum Shop Parramatta put on a fantastic afternoon of drums and drumming in Sydney on a sunny Sunday afternoon in November.
The featured drummers were Lucius Borich, Darryn Farrugia and Chad Wackerman. All three showed why they are so highly regarded in their particular style with Chad blowing everyone away with his incredible playing and also his stories of life in the Frank Zappa Band. He finished the afternoon with his band featuring Daryl Pratt on midi-vibes, James Muller on guitar and Leon Gaer on bass.
This great afternoon wasn't just about three drummers on stage, but a chance to get up- close-and-personal with some of the DW kits on show around the rooms and a chance to hear them being demonstrated by other noteable players including: John Adams (Doug Williams Band and Drum City), Warren Trout (Men at Work and Kate Ceberano), Colin Hatchman (Screaming Jets), Adrian Griffin (bonic, degeneracy and Billy Hyde Drumcraft). Jason MacDonald took some time on stage to show the concept of DW drums and why he thought they were the best ever!

Featuring:
Sabian Day, staged by Billy Hyde Drumcraft, was for many the drumming highlight of 1998 in Sydney. Held at the Enmore Theatre on a Sunday afternoon it featured world class talent from Australia and overseas.
Gordon Rytmeister and his band 'Glue' performed a fantastic set with 'Gordo' on fire with his incredible style, technique and musical taste.
David Jones performed a solo spot starting with his 'Welcome bowls' and then moving on to his kit which he played with absolutely everything. The tension he can create playing a drum kit is amazing and his standing ovation at the end totally deserved. David is the complete musician and on this particular day his enormous talent seemed to reach new heights.
MC for the day was Dom Famularo from Sabian. Dom travels the world preaching the gospel of drums (don't let a bass player in) and motivating people to play better. When he stops talking and starts playing though, you realise why he is so well respected throughout the world.
The final performer for the day was Terry Bozzio behind his huge DW kit and the biggest selection of Sabian cymbals you have seen outside the factory. There has been volumes written about Bozzio's playing, all glowing and all correct. He is just an amazing musician and if you missed out this time, don't make the same mistake again.
